Me, Michael
My response to the latest news article found here. A few things I feel the need to add as Kaylene Steele.  Kevin came straight off of a phone call with our insurance to the journalist, so he came off to her more brash and candid than he meant. First, there was a wall in the creek on school property that should not have been there.  It was a big part of the flooding getting out of control in our neighborhood, and probably caused the flooding that came into our home from the west side (opposite the creek), causing most of the damage.  Neither the city or the school seems to take any responsibility for this failure in safe water engineering. Second, the money will work out.  Both of our families…

Happy Birthday to Three Wonderful Young Men!

Birthdays, Family, Family Fun, Holidays, Kevin, Kevin and I, Memories, Michael
Today is Michael, Kevin and his dad Mark's birthday!!!  They are 95 accumulative years!  I'm sure I'll post more later about them, but just want to shout out my love to them today! I have one of the most wonderful father-in-laws you could ask for.  Mark is a wonderful example and such a loving caring man.  He's always helpful, always listening, and I don't think I've ever heard him speak to or of anyone in frustration.  I'm so glad to have him as a father in law, and glad to have him in my family.  I know my husband is a better man because of being raised by such a caring gentle father, as I see echo's of Mark in Kevin and the way that he cares for the world…

Merrily we roll along…

Aiden, Baby Joey, Birthdays, Family, Family Fun, Humor, Kevin, Kevin and I, Me, Memories, Michael
Life is just going along.  This week was a busy one.  This week Kevin finally had his training for his new job (they threw him into it for the last two months without the formal training), and spent most of the days at work training, towards the ends of the work-days he was still responsible for his normal work routine, so he kept positively busy. The week began with Kevin taking a pre-test for one of his classes, and cramming for the following exam, on Wednesday he took and passed his Microsoft OS XP Certification Exam, Kevin said that some people told him that if he could use Microsoft OS, he'd be fine, but he had to study hard, and it was more complicated than it sounded.  On Thursday Kevin…

re-cap of the last two months Part I

Aiden, Animals, Baby Joey, Family Fun, Life in Texas, Me, Memories, Michael, Move to Utah, Pictures
So looking back, it looks like I need to re-cap through the move...  We've certainly been having fun, and my computer isn't as centralized as it's been, making computer time more rare and hard to come by. So looking back, it looks like I need to re-cap through the move...  This is going to take a few posts, and I'm going to split it and post them fourth to first, so that they read down the page correctly...  So...  If I ever get around to booking my blog (or whatever they call it) you'll have to skip ahead a couple pages and flip back.  Sorry for the inconvenience. Highlights (and lows) since just before the move~ November 1st (the day after we agreed to the new job) we went up…

re-cap of the last two months Part II

We celebrated Aiden's 4th birthday! We had Aiden's Birthday party, he decided he wanted a candy mountain cake...  That's what it looked like...  A mountain of candy.  He loved it so that's all that matters. We had a rainbow pinyata, and I think everyone had a great time. We had LOTS of dinners at the Steele's and have enjoyed lots of time with both of our families.  One weekend when Mom and Dad Steele were out of town I think, we met up with Kevin's little brother and sister at Arctic Circle and let the kids play, fun times and good shakes. We had our first heavy snow, the boys LOVED going out in playing in it, but haven't been back out really yet, LOL!  Sadly I haven't taken any…

re-cap of the last two months Part III

We hosted the annual Andersen Family Christmas party over at the Stake house.  I hosted a little studio, but haven't had much of a chance to look over the results.  I haven't had much of a chance for any picture stuff...  I'd better find some.  Joey played Jesus in the Nativity, he was pretty good about it, but I'm pretty sure he was kinda confused about all the fuss and costumes. My identity was stolen.  Yuck. We had a wonderful Christmas.  I was giddy over my gift for my brother (we draw names in my family) I got him a little foam airplane (think the kind Aiden would adore), and three t-shirts.  He opened it and tried to look thrilled.  Hahaha!  I'm so mean! Then I said "oh yeah, there's…

re-cap of the last two months Part IV

Aiden, Baby Joey, Family Fun, Holidays, Kevin and I, Me, Memories, Michael, Pictures
We went to visit Grandma Steele at work, and went to see the Lights and reindeer at Thanksgiving point. We frantically searched high and low for the new bank account folder of private financial information, including our new ATM card, new Pin #, and our credit reports including both of our SSN#'s.  To no avail.  THIS REALLY STINKS.  I can't even begin to express how frustrating that's been...  Things have been worked out now, but things were sure tense there for a bit. We rang in the new year fast asleep.  I was sick and saw no point in wasting what little energy I had on trying to stay awake...  Though we did have Dinner at he Steele's. I then spent the next 4 days sick, it turns out my…

Bella and Edward in Utah

OK, maybe not all together, LOL! Wednesday morning Joseph, Aiden and Michael set out on our trip up to Utah.  We got on our first flight without too much stress (heaven bless whoever invented a good double stroller), and we sat down to get settled on our first flight (that's right, we had a layover) As soon as I was settled a Man came down the isle with a little girl and a wife with a baby girl.  As soon as they sat down the woman started hyperventilating and stressing about a flight with two kids...  Um yeah lady, I had to bite my tongue to not tell her to find 4 more kids, or add a kid and loose the husband, and then complain...  Soon after we took off the husband asked me why I'd fly alone with…

Our last date in Texas!

So lastnight we were able to get out on the town one last time.  Last Christmas Kevin was drawn for a gift card for Trevesio's for $100!  Sweet deal! The first time Kevin gave me a tour of the Med center was right after they finished the water fountains there, and we walked up to the top and peeked into the restaurant and said "I hope we can eat here someday, that would be a lot of fun!"  He's had a couple work lunches there but they were more of a "here's a platter, pick what you like" format. Well being 9 months pregnant last Christmas, and me being miserable it just didn't happen while we had two kids.  Then with marathon nursing around the clock, and several other big…

The Primary Program

Aiden, Church, Michael
Aiden was the second part in the program, I think that was smart considering he's either the youngest or next to youngest in primary, and by far the rowdiest.  He got up, giggled and said "Herwoo!"  And then said "Just teasing!" and then said "I'ya Chil GOD!"  TWICE.  OH well, it could have been worse.  Kevin and I were both red and trying to stifle our giggles and embarrassment.  It's a good thing he didn't know were we were at that point or else he would have got a kick out of our response and been egged on.  Very embarrassing... Michael did pretty good, he said the first two lines of his part without any help then I think the stage fright set in, and he needed a little help,…
