In all MY panic, I forgot to mention that we've prayed about it and we feel good and safe about staying.  Things are a bit crazy, but overall we feel like things will turn out just fine. It's funny cause as I was at the store I was listening to my iPod, and the song by Alanis Morissette came on, "Hand In My Pocket"  And it says "What it all comes down to, is everything's going to be fine, fine, fine."  And I feel peace that it will be. :) For those who might not know exactly where Houston is in this giant state.  Here's a map.  It looks like we're really going to be getting a direct hit.

A little bit of Panic

The area that we used to live in, just twenty something miles away was evacuated this morning, but we've been told to "shelter in place," so unless there's some other mandate, we're sticking around.  When Allison was here 7 years ago our home was safe (we know the woman who lived here at the time) so that's somewhat comforting. Little Aiden is sick with a head cold.  He's not doing to well with that, I don't want to consider cramming him (and the rest of us) in the car for a long evacuation.  So gratefully we're hopefully not doing that. Which clothes on Joey for our family pictures?

We're getting family pictures soon, and are wondering what we should put on Joey. Vote on our poll at your right please!  And if you have any other suggestions for him, please let us know.  either another combination of the outfits we have for him, or if you can find something online for less than $15. Oh, and we'll all be in jeans in various darker blues. Mock Blue Jeans with darker blue wolf shirt (the tiny logo is a howling wolf and a couple pine trees). Hayez; The Kiss

Image from Wikipedia Moved?  I am. I LOVE this painting.  It means more to me than any image I've ever seen. It was painted in Italy by Francesco Hayez in 1859, as I understand, it portrays a goodbye kiss of two lovers as he leaves for war.  How passionate, loving, tense, sad, electric, and compelling.  What would it be like to kiss your husband knowing it may indeed be the last time you kiss, last time you touch, last time you see?  So sad, but you want sadness so badly not to be the memory of the moment.  The colors are just vibrant enough, yet subtle enough, the shadows deep yet well placed, the cloth and texture of the stones.  The shadow of a waiting soldier in the background. It’s always fun When Grandpa Comes,

When Grandpa comes, hooray! Grandpa spent lots of time with the boys and read them several books.  I think they really enjoyed having him here. Hahaha, looking back over these photo's, I think either I've just resigned to the chaos, or my memory tricks me into thinking things were more calm than they were... Grandpa reading to Mike and Joe. Hi Mommy!!! The closest I got to a group picture of all the boys and their grandpa together. Well, one of the closest... At least Joey was listening. Well, and Aiden, but only on his terms. I was at church sitting with my friend Laura S. in Sunday School before it started, and we were chatting, next to me sat this guy I knew about because I knew his family, but he'd been gone ever since I'd moved to the area, and this was our first meeting.  He sat there legs crossed, shoulders hunched slightly forward, looking very uncomfortable and out of place.  Something inside said I had to say something so what popped out of my mouth? Moody Gardens

As I previously mentioned, last Saturday we went to Moody Gardens in Galveston Texas. On the way back to the car I ran a race with Michael... He was telling Aiden, who was sitting in the front of the double stroller, that he was gonna beat him, I couldn't have any of that, so off I flew, hahaha! So I manged to get my fully loaded double stroller (and I don't mean super nice, just loaded down with peeps and stuff), myself and my saggy pants to the end of the grass (about 50 yards) before Michael, LOL! OK, there are a million reason that my hubby's the best (for me, sorry girls!), he gets up in the night to go get the baby, or to switch places with me when I still want Joey safe between us but I need to switch nursing to the other side, he pics me up when I get too tired to move anymore, and helps me keep on going.
