Where have I been?

Dreams, Family, Family Fun, Kevin, Kevin and I, Life in Texas, Me, Move to Utah, Travel, Vacation
OK, if Kevin did this, it would be an entirely different landscape, but here's mine, I've been all over the West having grown up in Utah, and lived in Idaho as a baby, and then there's the 6 years in Texas, and the drives between Utah and Texas (we mostly flew), both the Kansas route, and the New Mexico route, personal preference, I like the southwest route.  In the near future I'll add Oregon and Washington.  Kevin served his mission in Portland Oregon, so we hope to make a trip back there soon since our family vacation time no longer needs to be spent to SEE family. :) visited 12 states (24%)Create your own visited map of The United States Oh yeah, and sad as it is, I've never left…

Our last date in Texas!

Aiden, Baby Joey, Church, Dreams, Kevin and I, Life in Texas, Me, Memories, Michael, Move to Utah, Pictures
So lastnight we were able to get out on the town one last time.  Last Christmas Kevin was drawn for a gift card for Trevesio's for $100!  Sweet deal! The first time Kevin gave me a tour of the Med center was right after they finished the water fountains there, and we walked up to the top and peeked into the restaurant and said "I hope we can eat here someday, that would be a lot of fun!"  He's had a couple work lunches there but they were more of a "here's a platter, pick what you like" format. Well being 9 months pregnant last Christmas, and me being miserable it just didn't happen while we had two kids.  Then with marathon nursing around the clock, and several other big…

We’re Moving!

Dreams, Family, Family Fun, Kevin, Life in Texas, Move to Utah
And this isn't just a move down the block! Kevin has a job offer in Sandy Utah, he's taking it, which means we're moving, and that our kids will get to grow up knowing their grandparents and other extended family!!  We're beyond thrilled. Edited to answer a few Questions people are having~ He'll roughly be doing the job that he was doing before we moved to Houston (new company). He's got 12-18 months of school left before his Bachelors (depending on what he takes on each semester), and we're hoping he'll get a promotion once he graduates.  It's nearly impossible to be in his current position without a degree, so we've been very blessed, but we've prayed about it and it's definitely time for a change. Amanda, that was one…

“Don’t tell the girls you wanna marry them!”

Dreams, Family, Family Fun, Humor, Me, Michael, Pregnancy
Didn't think I'd be saying that one yet...  I guess Michael keeps telling the girls in his class that he wants to marry them.  So they tattle, and he gets in trouble. He's always asking me when the next baby is coming, and I keep telling him it's not up to him, and there might not be any more babies.  He says when he grows up he's going to have 12 children (I don't know where he'd get that from!), but he loves little babies and kids.

Hayez; The Kiss

Dreams, Grief and Loss, Kevin and I, Me, Memories, Pictures, The end is near
Image from Wikipedia Moved?  I am. I LOVE this painting.  It means more to me than any image I've ever seen. It was painted in Italy by Francesco Hayez in 1859, as I understand, it portrays a goodbye kiss of two lovers as he leaves for war.  How passionate, loving, tense, sad, electric, and compelling.  What would it be like to kiss your husband knowing it may indeed be the last time you kiss, last time you touch, last time you see?  So sad, but you want sadness so badly not to be the memory of the moment.  The colors are just vibrant enough, yet subtle enough, the shadows deep yet well placed, the cloth and texture of the stones.  The shadow of a waiting soldier in the background. I…

I’m feeling frustrated.

Dreams, Me, Venting, Wedding Photography
With my photography.  I took a wedding in early June, worked my heart out on it and don't even really feel like I did that well on it.  Other than that, and snapping my family, I haven't done any real photography since little more than halfway through my pregnancy with Joey.  I don't know what's wrong with me.  And of course my wanderings keep bumping me into wonderful inspiring photographers, and I feel so little and insignificant. Of course I've spent some time getting used to my new camera and had a few flubs there at the beginning, and that shot my confidence, so I need to just get out there again. I need a few pick me-up sessions, anyone willing to have pity on me?

20 years in the making…

Dreams, Games, Humor, Me
I have been tagged by my friend Rae. So this is my list. I would like to tag anyone who's interested, since I know some people don't like to be tagged. 20 years ago: * I was 6 and heading for the 1st grade, Mrs. Ball's class. She was pretty neat! * Was diagnosed with ADHD, a categorization that still bothers me. * Had lived in North Logan, Utah for about a year and was enjoying doting on my almost one year old baby brother Nathan. 10 years ago: * We moved from the Home in North Logan that I'd grown up in and moved to American Fork, Utah. * I had my first love and subsequent heart break. * I missed meeting my husband by less than a week…

iPod, and me singing.

Dreams, Family Fun, Me, Memories
I got an iPod. For a reason I may cover later, I got my birthday present very late this year. I picked up a Green 1 Gig iPod Shuffle. I've been enjoying Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance (I played Ruth in High School) The Holiday soundtrack, listening th church magazines (did you know you can get MP3's on lds.org of all sorts of stuff, magazines through scriptures? I have a link at the right) and all sorts of other fun stuff. Michael said earlier "Mom, you got a really good voice." which totally surprised me. I feel like I've totally lost my voice, my pitch is terrible, the quality leaves a LOT to be desired in many ways. Many who've met me in the last 7 years or so…
