Family Vacation

Family Fun
Well, here we are.  A dozen people in one place all gathered to celebrate Joseph's birth, and blessing this weekend. My Mom, and two of my brothers, Ryan and Jared, are here.  Mark and Peggy, my IL's and Kevin's brother Sam and his wife Sara are here too, but they're staying in a hotel on the other side of the city as all the hotels locally are all full, thanks to the NCAA finals in our backyard. So far we've just hung out around here and gone to Olive Garden lastnight for dinner.  Kevin took Ryan, Jared and Aiden to Fry's Electronics, that's a big deal, Fry's is a super electronics store.  It's got computer components, books, computers, macs and pc's, projectors, office furniture, camera's and camera equipment, full theatre…

Hello Goodbye!

Blog Changes
A little announcement, Kevin has started his own blog. He says he doesn't plan on writing nearly as much as me so not to get all excited, hahaha, I told him that not many people write as much as me. Which brings me to goodbye, since he has his own site, he'll now host those video's that were previously in my menu bar. They were mostly his thing anyways so it makes sense that they'd move over there. Here's a link to the new site. kevin.steelelife.com And sorry to anyone who has that song stuck in their head now... :D

Chocolate Mix Skittles

Family Fun, To new beginnings
So I decided to try something new.  I would have never tried them before, but I've been given a "your favorite chocolate and music" theme in a gift exchange I'm participating in, and while browsing through the chocolate aisle at Sam's I thought they may be interesting, and if they were gross at least I'd have something funny to laugh about. They're actually pretty good.  Not real creamy melty chocolate, more chewy, like tootsie rolls, or the vanilla tootsie rolls (in the blue wrapper) you can get at Halloween, coated in a normal skittle candy shell.  They have five flavors, vanilla, s'more, chocolate caramel, chocolate pudding, and brownie batter.   I could see them being a real hit if people can just get past the "Chocolate Skittles?!?!?!  That could be nasty!" shock.  No,…

Yay ME!!!

Dreams
So I've done something big. I've been addicted to an online forum for the last 4 years. I haven't gone more than a day at a time in most of that time without checking there, and many, many days I've spent way too much time reading and posting there. It's had it's great support, but it's also been a problem for me in getting other things done, and now it's finally time for me to move on. So... I've kicked it! I've now gone I believe 10 days away, let me double check that, nope it's 12 days, off of there!!! WhaahhhhOOOO! I admit I have been there once. I went back to inform my birth group (a bunch of other mommies that were due the same week as I…

Why is it that when…

Baby Joey, Family Fun, Pictures
You think everything is blissful, and everything is going great, and that you get all googley eyed, reality hits, and everything isn't all rose colored? Today has not really been a pretty day. Nothing terrible, just a bunch of cranky people stuck at home. Here's some pictures just to brighten my night. Joey has become a natural model, he's already smiling for the camera. I guess there's something happy about a giant eye (the lens from his perspective) and Mommy getting all giddy with every smile.

I could be a horrible Mother in Law

Aiden, Baby Joey, Kevin and I, Michael
I realized something as I drift off to sleep holding my sweet baby lastnight. He was giggling at me for no apparent reason other than he was fed and changed and happy to be next to me. He was just loving on me, his mother, the most important woman in his life. It's going to be hard someday to let my boys go and let them fancy another girl. I imagine that this is compounded by the fact that we're an all boys family and there's no other women (besides aunts and grandma's who live more than a thousand miles away) to share their fancy with, and that I don't have a daughter that I'd hopefully share the bond that I share with my own mother. The thought of them…

I Can’t Believe it’s Not……Saturday

Baby Joey, Family Fun, Pictures
It really feels like it should be Saturday night to me... Kevin forgot that he had today off for "Good Friday." So when I called him at work at about 4 yesterday he had a nice surprise for me, as it was for him earlier in the day when it was brought to his attention. It was really nice to realize that he'd be home today, but because he's been home it's felt a lot more like a Saturday than a Friday. So I keep gearing up for church in the morning, but we have one more day first, hahaha. This morning we went to play group's Easter Egg hunt and had a great time. Tara B. made some beautiful Easter Bunny cakes that were so adorable! AND Yummy! Other…

Grin and Owwie pics

Aiden, Baby Joey, Pictures
Here's a pic of Joey grinning for me, sweet little guy! And our poor Aiden, he ran into an open cupboard lastnight, so on top of his stuff on the right side (notice that it's developed into a mild black eye as well?) he has a vertical knot on the left side of his forehead... Poor kid! I'm now REALLY glad that I got pics of them last week in their Easter outfits.

“I’m glad he’s a brother…”

Baby Joey, Church, Michael
Finally! Michael got all sentimental today while we were playing with Joey, I told Joey (as I do about 1,000 times a day) "I'm so glad you came to our family!" A year ago I wouldn't have ever expected another child, let alone so soon. Michael said "me too, I'm gad Heavenly Father sent him to us." I just smiled at Michael talking like that, then he said, "I'm happy that he's not a sister and that he's a brother." I almost fell over. I've been aching for him a little. Ever since he found out that I was pregnant he's been talking about wanting a sister, then when we found out our baby was a boy, he was so sad because he'd wanted a sister ( I so understand…
