So I’ve done something big. I’ve been addicted to an online forum for the last 4 years. I haven’t gone more than a day at a time in most of that time without checking there, and many, many days I’ve spent way too much time reading and posting there. It’s had it’s great support, but it’s also been a problem for me in getting other things done, and now it’s finally time for me to move on.
So… I’ve kicked it! I’ve now gone I believe 10 days away, let me double check that, nope it’s 12 days, off of there!!! WhaahhhhOOOO! I admit I have been there once. I went back to inform my birth group (a bunch of other mommies that were due the same week as I was with Joey) that I had gone and that I’d love to stay in touch with them personally away from our forum. 3 or 4 have added me as a myspace friend, which I love, but I’m no longer a slave to that addiction! In the words of Hotel Heiress, London Tipton from “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody” on the Disney Channel, (haha, and yes, she’s a silly kiddie cleaned up version of another real life hotel heiress who is rolling in dough, isn’t too bright, and is spoiled rotten), “Yay ME!”
Good for you! I know I have to be careful not to get too involved in online sites. I’m glad you have the support when you needed it. It’s almost like a friendship-for a reason, a season or always!

out of curiousity what was the forum? It is way easy to get addicted to most online forums and while I am a member of quite a few I stay away for the most part lest I get sucked in. Congrats on kicking the habit.

Netty 😉 I’ll have to in a few days, right now I’ve got company coming tomorrow and will till Tuesday, so I want to give them my attention. 🙂 BTW, I know that Netty is an old fashoin nic-name, but my uncle (Mom’s sisters hubby) has an AWESOME sister we call Netty, and so it only ever means the best. Hehe. I don’t think I’ve ever told you about her have I? (((HUGS))) Please tell the SoZ girls I “heart” them and that I’ll be around occasionally for a little bit but until my company goes home I’ll just be partying IRL. 🙂

Hahaha I totally know what you mean!! I’ve been part of the “Due in June 2008” forum on Whattoexpect.com since I got pregnant and its totally turned into an addiction. I feel like I miss out if I go one day without checking the posts. I figure I will keep up with everyone until after we’ve had our babies, but not sure how long I’ll do it. However, being this is my first, I could really use the forum for advice. I’ll just have to limit my time on there!
