ICE or In Case of Emergency

OK, I deleted the chain email, but people are doing this "ice" thing, where in your contacts on your cell you put "ice" in front of the names of the people you'd want contacted in case something happened and you weren't able to respond about who to contact. Ice Husband, ice2 Husband desk, ice3 Mom, ice 4 Mom cell, ice 5 MIL, etc... While I was pregnant I was especially concerned about this and put "husband" in front of Kevin's numbers, and "Mom," and "OB/GYN," and "Ped, Dr. ******," etc...  So hopefully if anything had ever happened that they'd be able to contact the right people, and get necessary records, as well as wished doctors for my care.  Thankfully it was never used, but I was happy to know that…

“Don’t tell the girls you wanna marry them!”

Didn't think I'd be saying that one yet...  I guess Michael keeps telling the girls in his class that he wants to marry them.  So they tattle, and he gets in trouble. He's always asking me when the next baby is coming, and I keep telling him it's not up to him, and there might not be any more babies.  He says when he grows up he's going to have 12 children (I don't know where he'd get that from!), but he loves little babies and kids.

Adorable Stray Cats Need a Home

They have a home!  Someone's coming to get them! OK, these are some of the adorable cats that hang around my neighborhood, they can't stay long because well, we're in apartments and it's not the safest environment for them and I think there are legal issues... So these little guys are free to anyone willing to catch them, take them to the vet, and care for them. This is a Mama, probably not more than a year old, and her final kitten left from what we believe is her first litter, born earlier this summer, 6-8 weeks old.  I don't know where the other two kittens are, hopefully people were able to take them in rather than having them found by predators or hit by cars.  The girls downstairs have…

Babies “Race”

As of yet, no babies have been born (as of yesterday by most of the updates). In my poll I forgot one cousin who's due this month. There are TWO Laura's due this month, one is my MIL's Sister's daughter, the other is my Mom's sisters daughter. Actually Jenni and Laura are Sandy's Daughter and Daughter in law, Sandy is my mother in law Peggy's sister, and Kristin and Laura are Marlene's daughters, and Marlene is my Mom's sister... Following? Laura on my side is the only one who's already had a child if that makes any difference. There are a lot of women becoming mothers this month. When is the next full moon? A rough night.

Lastnight was our first rough night with Joey. Usually, so far, he's seemed to have a cycle at night; eat, burp, poop/change, and sleep until he's hungry again at which point I usually wake him up or he starts to meow a little and eat again, very easy when it comes to newborns... Lastnight it went more like, cry, eat, cry, scream through change, want to be held, mommy hit breakdown critical, daddy (who was VERY tired after about 2 hours sleep the night before cause we went to bed very late, he took grandma to the airport, and then the big boys were awake for the day) burped him and get him settled down, lay him down, cry, eat, cry some more, daddy take over again, clean up blow…

Why Joseph Merlin??

You may have been surprised at our choice of a middle name for our latest addition. Especially with all of the build up in the last few months with Kevin and I not telling what we've chosen for baby Joey's middle name, and being so open about his first name. Well it all has to do with meaning. Our two older sons have names Kevin and I like, along with middle names after a living family member. Michael Jeffrey was named after Kevin's cousin Jeff, who has always been a good friend to Kevin. Oh, the stories Kevin has told about spending time with him. Joseph’s Birth Story

Back in May, actually Mothers Day, two days before I found out I was pregnant, I had this dream, I dreamed that I had a baby (wasn’t expecting to be pregnant) at home because I had a fast labor… And that I was trying to wake Kevin to take me to the hospital, but he wouldn’t wake up. I kept that in mind through my pregnancy, not that my husband would ignore me, but I was so scared of a fast labor and unplanned home birth. I had a LOT of false calls, as late as last Friday night. Sunday night, right before dinner I found myself throwing up without any warning or reason. This can be a sign of labor so instead of being disgusted I was hoping. A…

Another day pregnant, but a good one none the less.

First off, and my BEST part of this day, is that Michael's teacher says he's doing better in class since the Christmas break!!!! Yay!!! Awesome for him!!!! The bad is that he told his teacher that the baby was born though, um nope, hahaha! Grammy Rawlings, Aiden, and I went to the zoo today to try to get some walking going. I think it helped, we'll have to wait and see. My back is certainly screaming at me about it tonight, but it was fun. Grandma is a REALLY good sport for helping with Aiden's tantrums there. We got home and I did kick counts, when baby isn't moving as much as I would like, I am supposed to eat or drink something and lay down counting movements until I'm…
