“I’m glad he’s a brother…”

Finally!

Michael got all sentimental today while we were playing with Joey, I told Joey (as I do about 1,000 times a day) “I’m so glad you came to our family!” A year ago I wouldn’t have ever expected another child, let alone so soon. Michael said “me too, I’m gad Heavenly Father sent him to us.” I just smiled at Michael talking like that, then he said, “I’m happy that he’s not a sister and that he’s a brother.” I almost fell over.

I’ve been aching for him a little. Ever since he found out that I was pregnant he’s been talking about wanting a sister, then when we found out our baby was a boy, he was so sad because he’d wanted a sister ( I so understand that because I’ve felt it so deeply myself), and he even has had a few sad times after Joey came where he insisted that he’d wanted a sister. I didn’t expect him to ever fully verbally express it but I’ve known that he loves him. Both big brothers are great at expressing their love for baby Joey, it totally makes this Mama heart swell to see them together loving each other. I’m just so glad to hear Michael say it.

What could ever be better than these sweet boys I’ve been given??? I can’t wait to watch them grow up and see what kind of men they will be, I hope a lot like their Daddy. What an amazing role I’ve been blessed with, can I ever carry my part? I certainly hope so, I know I can’t do it alone that’s for sure.

  • That is so sweet. I am glad that Michael has decided that he is ok with another Brother. You could be like my Mom & keep trying until you have a girl, it only took her 5 tries :p then she had another boy after me.

  • Hahahaha! We’ll see, only time will tell. 🙂

Sophia, I’m an only girl, I have 4 brothers. My Dad sometimes jokes (until my Mom gives him “the look” that says “you’d better be careful so you don’t hurt somebodies feelings”) that they had one girl then kept trying for another one until they had 4 boys and decided it wasn’t happening.

I’m just thrilled to have three precious children, I don’t care what gender they are. Besides Boys are awesome and I woudn’t know what to do with, or how to raise a girl, thought I’m sure I’d muddle through.
