Here are some pics of Kevin’s hobby. He’s hand painted all of these and has been quite enjoying getting into it.
From Kevin:
These are Models from the Games Workshop tabletop game Warhammer:40,000 I am collecting and painting Space Marines and I’ve built and painted 21 so far and have a bunch more to finish. I started this in December and have been enjoying myself a lot. It takes a lot of concentration, but it is, in many ways so rewarding and relaxing to paint and finish these models. Currently, I’m just painting the models rather than playing the game. Once I have enough, then maybe I’ll play, but honestly, I’m doing it more for the painting. I’ll give some captions for the pictures below, and hopefully they make some sense.
Space Marines with Plasma Gun and Meltagun
Codicier Librarian with Force staff and Powerfist.
The Librarian was the first model I ever tried painting. He is part plastic and part Pewter, and quite complex. I guess I decided to just throw myself at it and see what came out. I have to say that I’m pleased for my first attempt.
Space Marines with Bolters on top of the Fort.
When I was putting all my models out for Kaylene to photograph, I dumped my standard Space Marines on a building that I had made. Some models have the basing finished (Rock, Sand, Static Grass) and others I haven’t finished yet. I have my building primed with black paint, but I haven’t started painting it yet.
Lieutenant Varras and the Geneseed.
This is one of my more recent models. I finished him last week. He’s a fairly simple yet important character. If I used him in a game, I would be required to keep him alive. He has a container of Geneseed, the genetic material that all Space Marines are derived from. He’s also the only model I have with Gold buttons on his jacket. I haven’t finished his base yet.

KC looked over my shoulder while I was reading and asked “Are those Warhammer?” He likes that game.
Hahaha! That’s so cool!
Freaky creepy!
