We went down to the beach and enjoyed a night on the ocean in Surfside Texas. Joey’s first vacation!
We stayed in a little place called “Cedar Sands Motel” not the nicest place, but not bad for the area and right on the beach. The bathroom was HUGE! We had a kitchenette and a large table with 4 chairs. They even had the Disney Channel.
We woke up early (twice, LOL, Michael and Aiden couldn’t go back to sleep when Joey woke us up for his 3 AM feeding), and went out and experienced the sunrise. It was breath taking! And not just cause we (mostly Kevin) had to keep running after Aiden. There were these clouds on the horizon that almost looked like a whole island out there between us and the sun, and the water, though cold was very inviting, Michael and Aiden had their fun embracing the waves.
We came back in and washed up, watched some TV, and then enjoyed a walk down the road to their little shops where Michael and Aiden each picked out a nice sea shell to add to their rock and shells collection, and we got some new sunscreen. We took a little road down and walked back on the beach. There were so many properties for rent it was amazing, so we dream of going back and renting a whole house, anyone want to share with us? We enjoyed the surf and the sea shells, as well as the sun and the birds as we walked back. It was so peaceful and unrushed.
Then we packed up and checked out. We had lunch at a little beach front restaurant. There was a St. Patrick’s Day parade there, but by the time that rolled around Kevin, Joey and I were ready for some AC. Michael was pretty heart broken when he realized we were missing the parade, sorry little guy, we forgot to discuss our train of thought with him I guess.
We went up to the Fish Hatchery or Sea Center Texas run by Texas Parks and Wildlife on the way back, I think I talked about them before on the blog we had forever ago that we stopped posting to… I guess I did, and I did a photo album on the day. We’ve been there a couple times and always enjoy our time. This was the first time however that we got to take the tour, and it wasn’t all I thought it would be, but it was pretty neat to see all that goes into breeding and setting free young fish.
I’m SO glad that we went, it was so fun and really enjoyable for all. I think we all agree the best part was the beach.
Oh, and Aiden decided to get potty trained while we were gone!!! I can’t say we’re out of the woods just yet, but in the last 24 hours he’s only had one accident, and that was away from home! At the restaurant he ran off and into the Men’s room, Kevin said that when he caught up to him he was standing in front of the urinal, he already had his pants down and was working on his diaper. Hahaha! So he made it there too (but Kevin took him to a traditional potty, I don’t think we’re ready for a urinal yet…).
After all of that we’re glad to be home, it was very refreshing, but exhausting at the same time.
I’ll edit soon to add some pictures from our trip, or maybe I’ll just post again, we took 800 photo’s in the last 22 hours, so there’s a lot to sort through.
That sounds like it was an awesome vacation!! I love that all your boys had a good time. And I love their Easter outfits. They are getting so big.
That all sounds so cool! I want to go there now!
I love the boys easter outfits – so cute!
And I can’t wait to see the vacay pics – I love to experience fun trips through other people!
What a fun trip! And Yay for being potty trained! I am jealous!
