How could I forget to document them???
Friday afternoon we took Aiden and Joey for their regular appointments.
Let’s see, Joey is 26 inches, and over 17 pounds. 50% in both height and weight, which is kinda small for our boys at this stage, but I’m pretty sure it has something to do with him needing more solids than he’s getting, so I’m trying to amp that up. We got the OK for all foods accept Honey (which is a “no brainer” in the 21st century). He’s healthy all around. He got 6 shots, three in each thigh, so that night and Saturday morning were pretty rough, but he’s back to normal now.
Aiden is 39 1/2 inches and 40 pounds, I remember Michael being exactly that after one of his doctors appointments. He’s 75th and over 95th percentile. He’s a little chunky, but that’s normal for a kid who won’t eat many fruits or veggies, we discussed his behavioral challenges, and were referred to a program which should help him and help us to be able to parent in a way that will help him and his outbursts. Sometimes I feel pretty trapped by his personality. He’s healthy and checked out just fine too. He got one shot which didn’t even seem to phase him.
So that’s that.
The kids are growing fast huh? BTW, thanks so much for posting on my friend Jennifers blog. You are sweet Kaylene.
Sounds like they are growing like weeds! Poor babies and shots! I hate when they need to get them it almost makes me cry! But at least it keeps them healthy! Your boys are huge compared to my girls! My 5 year old weighs 36lbs and my almost 2 year old weighs 20lbs! I guess that might be because the 5 year old was a preemie (4lbs at birth) and the 2 year old has 2 holes in her heart.
Wow! 3 shots in each thigh! I was wondering if you think its better to get shots like out of the way all at once, or to break them up and space them out? Preston only had one shot a few weeks ago and he was terribly cranky for 2 days straight!
I like to delay shots, but I wasn’t feeling too particular on Friday, this was his first vaccination. They say the mom’s immunities protect the baby if he’s breastfed until 6 months, I wanna know where they got the magical number…
I just decided to get them all out of the way at once, so he was frustrating and miserable for a day, but it probably would have been better to space them out… He still has one more shot in a month before his next regular appointment (9 months).
I should have given him Tylenol before his appointment so that it’d already be in his system so he woudn’t hurt as much, but I forgot and had to run and get some on the way home, besides since I didn’t know exactly what he weighed I didn’t know how much to give him until after his appointment. That’s a long NOT FUN story, that was more of a pain than him feeling miserable…
