And we took the little man to church for the first time today. Michael asked yesterday if it was “church day,” we said no but tomorrow is. He replied, “Can we go?” I said, “It looks like everyone’s healthy! Yeah, we’ll go.” You’d have thought we’d have told him we were going to Disneyland! LOL! Both boys got new teachers again, they’d shuffled after the new year to even things out a bit, so we’re all just trying to get settled again.
Tentatively we’ve scheduled the blessing for Sunday the 30th of March. Hopefully all of the grandparents will get off work and other things get scheduled so that they can come down. We’re looking forwards to that.
Sweet Kevin got stuck with both big boys for the whole sacrament. Joey had his last feeding at 4:30 this morning, and in the rush to get ready this morning he never asked to eat. So as soon as the men who’d passed the sacrament were invited to sit with their families, Joey and I headed to the mothers room, where Joey took his time catching up on food. While there he filled his diaper and I got up to change him. I reached into the diaper bag and noticed only two Joey diapers… I told him he’d better be careful and hurried. Thankfully he did fine, and I got him changed.
We caught the bishop on his way out of Sacrament, and went into his office to get the blessing scheduled. We then went to Sunday School, and Kevin danced Joey around the back of the Cultural Hall until he went into a deep sleep. Class finished up and I headed to Relief Society.
I sat down and as soon as class started Joey filled his diaper again, LOL! He was wearing a special outfit that Michael had come home from the hospital in. I got to the changing table in the bathroom, and sure enough he’d dirtied the outfit, haha! I had a couple outfits with me, so I hurried and got him clean and luckily he let me get away with one more change without an “accident.” I went back to Relief Society, and guess who decided he needed to eat NOW?!?! So I just fed him.
2-16 ETA (Edited to add): The boys as we headed out the door to church.
I should have taken off the blankets on Joey so that you all could see his outfit (It was Michael’s coming home outfit and a special gift for him from a friend of ours back in our parents ward). Please forgive the less than fancy church wear on the big boys, you get together what you can when church starts at 9 and you’re sleep deprived and running on fumes.
Hey Kaylene – yes that was you! Will found your blog and forwarded it to me and I enjoyed reading about your pregnancy/delivery since this is our first and I’m trying to gather as much helpful info as possible! Thanks for being so open and writing your blog.
