My Blogroll

OK everyone, I’ve been debating on weather to post links to other’s whom I read in case they may have a problem with it, I finally decided that in order to be conductive to this community flow that is the blogging world, that I should just go ahead and ask.

If you don’t mind me linking you on my blog roll let me know and I’ll add you. If nobody responds I just won’t have a blogroll… I’d also love suggestions for favorite websites to add to my measly group.

The reason I’m hesitant about having one is because I’m not comfortable with certain people finding my blog. Mostly because I’m very open with a friendly group out there on the www, and I wouldn’t want some of them finding this much personal info about me…

I have a private group (OK two) that are spin-offs from this first group, that I’m fine and comfortable with and love to share my blog with, but I don’t really feel good about just anybody on the original group stumbling across my blog… I understand if anyone out there wants to find stuff out about me they can figure it out, I just don’t want a wide open invitation, KWIM? Anyways, I’m great with family linking me, and ward friends, and for that matter any friends I know from real life that I met in real life… But I do worry a bit about random links, so if you link me please let me know, FYI, I’m fine with the links that I know about right now.

There was actually a scary instance last summer when a 17 year old girl who was supposed to be nannying a sweet little boy was posing on the web as a pregnant newlywed and created this whole alter life that she carried on from her wedding through the birth of her child, at least 6 months… Sharing stolen pictures of others along the way. It was devastating to a bunch of us, as we’d thought she was a close friend who we’d helped through some trials and we trusted enough to share phone numbers, etc… Eventually some of our friends realized something was fishy (when her “September baby” was born at the beginning of July weighing 5 pounds and sent straight home from the hospital with no concerns) and found a way to alert her parents, we’re confident that she’s been helped and is no longer a threat.

My whole point in sharing this whole story is that there are scary, dishonest people out there, and I just don’t want my family exposed to them more than necessary, but I also need this outlet for myself, and love to have a place where family and friends can keep up with what’s going on with us. Wow! It’s amazing how this subject changed through this post…

Anyways, if you’d like to be on our blogroll let us know and we’ll link you. And I’m always on the look out for inspirational, comical, thought provoking and fun video’s and links, so feel free to send those along (though I appreciate low spam 🙂 ).

  • Yay! I’m so glad I’ve gotten so many replies here, I was so afraid I’d offended some. If in fact I have offended, or anyone would like to talk to me out of public, feel free to email me. MommySteeleLife at gmail dot com.

I’ve added all 7 of you now, hehe! And I’m great with being linked back on each of your blogs. 🙂

I am so glad you found my blog! I read yours back when Joey was born, but couldn’t find the link anymore. If you want to link to me, that’s great. I will also link to you (to make it easier for me. 🙂 )if that’s a-okay.

Also, I would love to hear your opinions on the birth plan issue – feel free to send an email if you would like. I am gathering as much info as I can, so I can try to make the best decisions for us.

Oh, and one more thing – I am in your uncle and aunt’s ward (David and Tamara) – Tamara and I are in the RS pres. together – they are such great people!
