Not just Chocolate…

Allergies, Baby Joey
Joey's allergies are getting worse, not better...  He's been super fussy and hard to calm, and his poop is getting darker again. I'm cutting out nuts too to try and see if that has anything to do with the allergies.  I just wish I knew how to make him feel better.

Family Saturday

Aiden, Baby Joey, Baby Wearing, Michael, Pictures
I added a pic back on last Sundays blog of the boys as we headed out the door to church. Click here for the link to that Blog. Today we went to IKEA as a family. We just went for breakfast and to get out as a family. We got breakfast and for some reason it was buy one get one free (I believe Valentines and President's Day weekend), so we got breakfast and drinks for all 4 of us (who eat solids), plus a roll and muffin to share for about $9! Hahaha! Can't beat that very often anymore. The breakfast was two or three (I don't remember) long slices of bacon, 4 french toast sticks with syrup, a large scoop of scrambled eggs, and a large scoop of…

Good news, bad news, and a word blunder.

Allergies, Baby Joey, Michael
Good news first, it looks like the chocolate was the culprit, so Joey is looking better and things seem to be headed back to normal (whatever that is with a rapidly growing infant). Gross, but his poop is getting back to the right color, and his diaper rash is all but a distant memory. Bad news, I don't get to have chocolate for a while. Better to have him healthy than sick though. Today I went to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy, I occasionally call them a "script." We went in after I picked up Michael from school, and ran to the store to get my prescription, I dropped off my prescription and we went about browsing the valentines clearance (which was all chocolate, which I'm not getting…

Busy Valentines Day

Aiden, Baby Joey, Holidays, Michael
I LOVED having that stroller today. I don't have the correct car seat for Joey to use with it so I've been hesitant to use it, but the back folds down to be a bassinet. It worked awesome and by the time that my doctor came in for my appointment both of my boys were asleep! I love this stroller, so far it's easier to haul both boys and as much gear as I can imagine than any stroller I've ever pushed. I'm now 20 pounds down from my pre-pregnancy weight, and about 23 down from my last pregnancy weigh in. Now if I can just keep this trend going in a good direction, LOL! I weighed myself with and without Joey and he changes the scale 11.2 pounds. So…

Happy Valentines Day!

Allergies, Baby Joey, Holidays
OK, I already had this typed up once this morning and then lost it when I didn't "publish" right, so forgive me if this seems a bit abrupt or scattered. I'm just trying to get it out before I rush off to take care of a dozen other things. Joey is one month old today! Happy Birthday little Man! It's going so fast! I need to take and post new pictures soon. He's growing so much, the sweetie has 4 rolls on each thigh! If only a month of the pregnancy had gone so fast. I'm beginning to suspect Joey has a chocolate allergy. I've had milk ever since he was a couple days old and there have been no problems, whereas in the last few days I've had a…

A great morning

Baby Joey
I've noticed something about my sweet Joey over the last few days. He's generally MORE content and calm the more hectic that things are. Maybe it's cause he's the youngest, or maybe it's because it's just his personality. He's such a sweet baby, I'm just loving being his mother. He doesn't really cry much, in fact Aiden does a lot more even at 3, than Joey does. If Joey needs something and I'm not able to come right then he'll cry for a minute and then stop for a few minutes, and this cycle just continues for a few minutes. Don't get me wrong, he LOVES to be held, and I go to him the first possible minute I can, but we don't have to listen to screaming the whole…

The blessing is scheduled!

Baby Joey, Pictures
And we took the little man to church for the first time today. Michael asked yesterday if it was "church day," we said no but tomorrow is. He replied, "Can we go?" I said, "It looks like everyone's healthy! Yeah, we'll go." You'd have thought we'd have told him we were going to Disneyland! LOL! Both boys got new teachers again, they'd shuffled after the new year to even things out a bit, so we're all just trying to get settled again. Tentatively we've scheduled the blessing for Sunday the 30th of March. Hopefully all of the grandparents will get off work and other things get scheduled so that they can come down. We're looking forwards to that. Sweet Kevin got stuck with both big boys for the whole sacrament.…

How many diapers per diaper change???

Baby Joey
You'd think one... But I think we average about 1.75. Let me preface this by saying that Kevin changed him less than an hour ago, within 5 minutes of me noticing him filling his diaper as I handed him over and headed for the kitchen to get my dinner... I just sat on my bed rushing to get another fresh application of diaper cream and a diaper on him, as Joey passed gas contemplating dirtying the third diaper since I lay him down to clean him up. This kid is FAST! He's become the expert at when Mommy is between diapers and picks his moments as if he knows precisely the instant in which to make a move. Good thing I'm getting faster too. Right now in an average day…

4 is a good number.

Baby Joey
I noticed something cool today. Kevin went to his hobby class, for those models he's painting, and there's a game that you play with them. It's all a bit above my head, but that's OK, I'm not really into that kind of thing. But, I realized that we have 4 guys in our family. We may have an odd number of kids, however chances are if the younger ones are like the older ones, and that's the trend so far, they'll have a GREAT time playing games built for even numbers. A lot of board games are built for even numbers, and a lot of computer or console games are built for even numbers, this is PERFECT for us. I can watch (something I enjoy, what's better than watching your…
