Michael’s Baptism Day, my Birthday
My oldest Michael was baptized yesterday, on my birthday. It was a great day with great people. Michael was a little nervous, but he did great. I guess at the last moment he locked up and forgot to bend his knees and sit like we'd talked about and practiced, so Kevin basically had to dunk him. He came up gasping with a mouth full of water sputtering "I'm OK!" Which cracked up everyone. His confirmation blessing was wonderful. There were a lot of sweet blessings given. His Dad blessed him and Grandpa Mark , Grandpa LeGrand, Uncle Dallin, Uncle Nate, Great Uncle Scot, and our Bishop Allgaier were in the circle. Unfortualtly a lot of people had other plans, so we didn't have as many people as I'd hoped, but…
My little Turkey.
TMI WARNING, a little diaper talk, but nothing that any mom hasn't seen and talked about a million times. One morning last week Joey was poopy, I asked him to bring a diaper and wipes, he brought me a diaper and one wipe. LOL! I started changing him and had Aiden bring me a package of wipes. So I had a pack of wipes sitting there. A little bit later Joey came along with his wet diaper in his hand, I guess he peed and wanted to be done with it, so he brought it to me... I asked him to go get a diaper. He came back with wipes. I asked him again to go get a DIAPER, he ran off and got distracted, lol! I called to him…
Utah, NOT Alaska!
This is my backyard right now. "Inconceivable!" It's days like this one that I miss Texas the most.
Happy Mothers Day!
OK, if you don't have little ones (or big ones) running around and I sent you a note wishing you a Happy Mothers Day, this is why. I hope I didn't make a hard day more painful, if anything I wanted to do the opposite, say to you that you make a difference in this world, and we're better for it. After all that's what Mothers Day is all about isn't it? Honoring those in a matriarch role (who are literal Mother or aren't, wishing for children, or who aren't) who work and sometimes sacrifice for those around them. If I missed passing you a note, I didn't mean to skip you, just didn't want to spam the whole web! I'll take this chance now to wish you a HAPPY…
Happy birthday to three!
Yesterday was the big triple birthday. Sorry no pictures. Lately I've kinda taken on a stance of enjoying life without a lens in the way, unfortunately that means missing having memories to share, and keep, but Other took pictures and I got to enjoy the big day less inhibited. Michael is 8, Kevin is 31, and I'm not sure how my father in law turned, lol! We had two pies and a birthday cake, a yummy dinner, and Michael got a VERY SURPRISING bike! Happy birthday to my sweetheart, I couldn't help but choke up as he blew out his candles, 6 months ago we never knew if we'd make this milestone. My Oldest is 8!?!?! How did that happen? I'm so proud of him!
It still knocks me down sometimes.
Today browsing the net I came across that funny wedding dance that took the net by rage about a year ago, you know the one that the guys from The Office forced on Jim and Pam in their wedding march. It made me cry. Why? Because Kevin and I watched that episode of The Office live on our get away the week before- The week before his body stopped. Back when our life was "normal." It's been more than 6 months now. Wow. Our life is better than ever, never normal, but as normal as life gets for us. We have a home of our own, finally. I HAVE my sweetheart. I'm not a widow scrambling to take care of the family we made together, I'm VERY blessed. These boys…
We Have a House!!!
We closed this morning and are moving tomorrow. Thanks so much to those that have already helped us SO much! If anyone wants to come tomorrow that would be awesome! We're really excited about the house and some of the fun things we're doing and planning. Pictures coming soon!
Still NOT HOME!
So, I guess I need to update again. The roof was finished beautifully on Friday after a weeks worth of weather delays. Each day last week was supposedly going to be the day we'd finish and get to close. It's very nice and clean, and it was a VERY good thing it was taken care of before we close. It was in pretty bad shape, and instead of replacing 1/8 of the roof boards from dry rot, it was closer to 1/2!! Now they've put in vents, which was likely a big part of the rot because of lack of ventilation. According to our inspection and appraisal, most of the rest of the projects are regular maintenance things, so welcome to home ownership for Kevin and I, project city! An…
Goodbye internet.
So we haven't closed yet, it was supposed to be yesterday... Hopefully it'll be Tuesday or Wednesday, it's been postponed because the roof needs to be finished in order for the deal to go through. It's a pain, but it'll be worth it soon. I'm signing off the net soon, and won't be back much until things are settled. I'll probably be online a couple times next week, and then occasionally when we come back to my Mom's house to visit. We're not getting a landline and internet until the house is settled, I know myself well enough to know that the house organizing and decorating progress will go much more slowly if I have the net to distract me. For anyone interested it looks like Michael will be baptized…
