Conference, Girls Night, and The Newest Chef

Conference was great, I'm so glad I was able to watch and listen. I did get my answers. :) I got my girls night lastnight, it turned out to be just my Relief Society President Margarita, me, and our 8 collective kids including a friend one of her kids had over at their house. I had a really great time and so did my kids. We got there and Aiden made himself right at home, minus his clothes, and rummaging through her cupboards... Silly boy, I was so embarrassed, but it worked out. Today Michael helped me make dinner. He actually did just as much as me. Funny Of the Day

On the way home from an errand this morning we picked up some donuts for breakfast. I had Michael carry the food but leave it in the front seat while I drove. Conversation follows~ Michael~ "Can I hold the donuts please?" Mommy~ "No, let's just leave them here, you can carry them inside when we get home." Michael~ (pouty) "Why?" Mommy~ "Cause I'm a big mean bossy Mommy, that's why." Michael~ "No, you're not!!!" Mommy~ "Really?" Michael~ "No, cause girls aren't bossy." Mommy~ guffaw! I'm glad he thinks so anyways.

Blessing Vacation

This is going to be really long, I told you I'd make up for missing posting... I'll post a link to a gallery with a lot more pictures later. Here's the details of our trip (or everyone else's trip to us), I'm detailing food cause I asked help from some friends and they helped me with menu ideas. Mom Ryan and Jared flew in late Thursday. I could be a horrible Mother in Law

I realized something as I drift off to sleep holding my sweet baby lastnight. He was giggling at me for no apparent reason other than he was fed and changed and happy to be next to me. He was just loving on me, his mother, the most important woman in his life. It's going to be hard someday to let my boys go and let them fancy another girl. I imagine that this is compounded by the fact that we're an all boys family and there's no other women (besides aunts and grandma's who live more than a thousand miles away) to share their fancy with, and that I don't have a daughter that I'd hopefully share the bond that I share with my own mother. “I’m glad he’s a brother…”

Finally! Michael got all sentimental today while we were playing with Joey, I told Joey (as I do about 1,000 times a day) "I'm so glad you came to our family!" A year ago I wouldn't have ever expected another child, let alone so soon. Michael said "me too, I'm gad Heavenly Father sent him to us." I just smiled at Michael talking like that, then he said, "I'm happy that he's not a sister and that he's a brother." I almost fell over. I've been aching for him a little. We went on vacation!

We went down to the beach and enjoyed a night on the ocean in Surfside Texas. Joey's first vacation! We stayed in a little place called "Cedar Sands Motel" not the nicest place, but not bad for the area and right on the beach. The bathroom was HUGE! We had a kitchenette and a large table with 4 chairs. They even had the Disney Channel. We woke up early (twice, LOL, Michael and Aiden couldn't go back to sleep when Joey woke us up for his 3 AM feeding), and went out and experienced the sunrise. It was breath taking! Field Day and last day before spring break.

So Aiden sat on Joey today... This morning as we were rushing to get out the door, Aiden was goofing around. Joey was already strapped into his car seat with two cushy blankets on him. Aiden decided to "moon walk" away from me as I way trying to get his pants and shoes on, and well, plop, he landed right in Joey's lap! Kevin and I both jumped, but Joey just sat there watching us like nothing had even happened. Aiden finally cooperated at that point... Today is Michael's field day. They did a bunch of relay races, and it was a lot of fun. It was kinda chilly (for us Texans) and Joey got hungry so we came home early, but we had a lot of fun watching Michael…

We Went to IKEA Today

Then I dropped Mike off at Smaland. No sooner had I dropped him off and walked upstairs and just started getting going did they page me back... Ugh! Potty, new wrap, and I need to drive…

I'm so excited it's Friday! I need a Friday... It's bone chilling and windy here right now, it's almost too much. It's supposed to warm up a little over the weekend, I hope so... Aiden went potty at the store yesterday! That's a first. We had to go, and I asked him in passing if he'd like to go too, when he said "yes," I was surprised but hurried and helped him. He made it! We're so proud of him. He finally got his first undies, yay! Mommy's just not brave enough to let him wear them yet.
