Chocolate Mix Skittles

So I decided to try something new. I would have never tried them before, but I've been given a "your favorite chocolate and music" theme in a gift exchange I'm participating in, and while browsing through the chocolate aisle at Sam's I thought they may be interesting, and if they were gross at least I'd have something funny to laugh about. They're actually pretty good. Not real creamy melty chocolate, more chewy, like tootsie rolls, or the vanilla tootsie rolls (in the blue wrapper) you can get at Halloween, coated in a normal skittle candy shell. They have five flavors, vanilla, s'more, chocolate caramel, chocolate pudding, and brownie batter. I could see them being a real hit if people can just get past the "Chocolate Skittles?!?!?! So I've done something big. I've been addicted to an online forum for the last 4 years. I haven't gone more than a day at a time in most of that time without checking there, and many, many days I've spent way too much time reading and posting there. It's had it's great support, but it's also been a problem for me in getting other things done, and now it's finally time for me to move on. So... I've kicked it! You think everything is blissful, and everything is going great, and that you get all googley eyed, reality hits, and everything isn't all rose colored? Today has not really been a pretty day. Nothing terrible, just a bunch of cranky people stuck at home. Here's some pictures just to brighten my night. Joey has become a natural model, he's already smiling for the camera. I guess there's something happy about a giant eye (the lens from his perspective) and Mommy getting all giddy with every smile.

I could be a horrible Mother in Law

I realized something as I drift off to sleep holding my sweet baby lastnight. He was giggling at me for no apparent reason other than he was fed and changed and happy to be next to me. He was just loving on me, his mother, the most important woman in his life. It's going to be hard someday to let my boys go and let them fancy another girl. I imagine that this is compounded by the fact that we're an all boys family and there's no other women (besides aunts and grandma's who live more than a thousand miles away) to share their fancy with, and that I don't have a daughter that I'd hopefully share the bond that I share with my own mother. I Can’t Believe it’s Not……Saturday

It really feels like it should be Saturday night to me... Kevin forgot that he had today off for "Good Friday." So when I called him at work at about 4 yesterday he had a nice surprise for me, as it was for him earlier in the day when it was brought to his attention. It was really nice to realize that he'd be home today, but because he's been home it's felt a lot more like a Saturday than a Friday. So I keep gearing up for church in the morning, but we have one more day first, hahaha. This morning we went to play group's Easter Egg hunt and had a great time. Here's a pic of Joey grinning for me, sweet little guy! And our poor Aiden, he ran into an open cupboard lastnight, so on top of his stuff on the right side (notice that it's developed into a mild black eye as well?) he has a vertical knot on the left side of his forehead... Poor kid! I'm now REALLY glad that I got pics of them last week in their Easter outfits.

“I’m glad he’s a brother…”

Finally! Michael got all sentimental today while we were playing with Joey, I told Joey (as I do about 1,000 times a day) "I'm so glad you came to our family!" A year ago I wouldn't have ever expected another child, let alone so soon. Michael said "me too, I'm gad Heavenly Father sent him to us." I just smiled at Michael talking like that, then he said, "I'm happy that he's not a sister and that he's a brother." I almost fell over. I've been aching for him a little. Grins and Hungry?

Joey is getting more and more expressive he gave both Kevin and I huge grins yesterday at the grocery store, and is getting more and more likely to randomly grin at us. We reached another one of my Spring Break goals, the boys and I made cookies this morning, yummy! They were "Mickey Mouse Club House Cookies" as my Mickey calls them. They were Disney Brand Disney Magic Selection Break n' Bake Chocolate chip Cookies with red while and brown Mickey mouse confetti. Pretty yummy. I'm glad we took the time to do that as it meant a lot to the boys. It makes me almost want to make real cookies, you know with butter, and sugar and flour and eggs... Almost. What happens when…?

You finally feel like you can sit down and breath? Everything blows up. I lay down on the couch to nurse Joey at about 11:30 this morning, Aiden was playing happily with a few mega blocks next to the entertainment center, and Michael was entertaining himself back in their room. Joey had finished and nodded off to dreamland, and I was just getting ready to carefully move him to the swing and take a break, make lunch, and clean the living room. Michael (in true Steele boy fashion) came running out of the bedroom. As he passed between Aiden and the entertainment center, he tripped/yanked/something on the cord for the game cube controller still attached to the Wii from last nights games...
